.............What an unbelievable story !! This is an absolute must see movie . My heart goes out to these guys , and too their families . WOW!!!!!!!!!! — MrItunesIsHere

Slow plot and too long
★★★★★
The concept for this film was good, but it just carry me along. Too many subplots that had little point except to attempt to develop characters, but in the end I didn’t find any of them compelling. I had to just turn the film off after about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Just couldn’t take anymore. — Jason504

Moving
★★★★
Because if my ties to Arizona I really wanted to see this. It was done very well and tastefully. It doesn’t go in to all the aftermath issues which is ok. I hope people gain a better understanding of this dangerous job and how all the development of housing into the woods have caused even more risk. And how the men that put their lives at risk need to have benefits and their families cared for should the worst happen. — Kylie55

I was heartbroken
★★★★★
I really enjoyed the portrayal of the characters, especially Eric Marsh looking after Brendan McDonough. I didn't know of the tragedy before watching the movie. Seeing the grief of the wives and children really hit me. I love my wife and children so much more. Great movie. — Jakowa

Great movie Wrong Rating
★★★★
The movie is a beautiful tribute to these men and their families. The rating should be changed to R though. Lots of bad words but the suggestive conversations are too much for a 13 year old. — Jake&B

firefighter baiting
★★★★
this movie if alt right nationalism firefighting baiting... not the real story.. hollywood is messing with the story just to push there firefighter agenda... enough with the right wing propaganda — Reddz2856

My Uncle is a retired Chief from the fire department and my Sister's Husband was a front line fire fighter this movie hit home hard! The danger these men go through to keep others safe is pure heroism the love they have for their families is what empowers their stead fast! ★★★★★
Great film, seems to be pretty accurate. Has everything you want in a movie, laughs, tears, joy, sadness, suspense. — Rowell0507

As american as it can ever get
★★★★
If you take the most american thing you can think of, and boil the essence out of it. And then take that boiled down americanism , and boil it down again, ten times, what is left, will be this movie. Being an european and all, it all gets a bit over the top, but it is still a great movie. — Back600

Superbly done!

Enough to make a man cry
★★★★★
I have seen the reviews on this movie and was compelled to watch it. I would relate the emotional pull this movie provides to that of "Act of Valor" and "Saving Private Ryan". I was captured by this movie right from the beginning. The intimate character stories that gradually unfolded throughout the movie, the understanding of the real danger that "Hotshots" face, and the real emotions that family and friends deal with. This story was done right. I am not a emotional person, but this movie brought me to sobbing tears. All in all a great movie that should be watched with respect. I really don't know how this movie could have been done better... — Phenomenal Movie

AMAZING
★★★★★
The story of Granite Mountain IHC is tragic. It’s heartbreaking. But the story of their bond, brotherhood, team mentality of a good hotshot crew and love for their family is heartwarming. Most people don’t understand what these guys go through every season. They give up family vacations, weddings, and precious time with their loved ones to protect life and property. It’s what they do. It’s what they love. They deserve so much more respect than they are given. This movie is without question a must see. It’s a little Hollywood in a couple places but the story doesn’t get lost. Which is really important in this case. — JesCorliss

Seldom do movies today make me pause and reflect. This is so sad and reintroduces one to the fact that there are people that do lose their lives in order to protect others. Once they are gone their entire communities are shattered. — Gatelets

It Touched and Haunted Me. Well Done!
★★★★★
To be truthful I expected a campy, cliche telling of a tragedy. The screenplay, acting, cinematography was amazing. I have visited the country where this occurred. It definitely conveyd it visually. I found myself caught up with the crew and families. Their humanity and struggles, without force feeding me any Hollywood political slant. The story was nurtured and cared for in a way hollywood should stick with. The acting seemed effortless supporting the overall story arch. I thought I was living it. BRAVO.........BRAVO......... A classic piece of movie telling in my estimate. — Ron76warrenTHS

Wonderful Tribute
★★★★★
I went to watch Only the Brave four times in theater. The movie doesn't put its main focus on the tragic day of the Yarnell Fire, but of the botherhood and bond of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and their journey to becoming certified– which is brilliant, because then we can get to know a little bit about the men on the crew and grow to love them. Absolutely heart wrenching but also has its comedic moments. I definitely recommend and think the movie portrays the Granite Mountain Hotshots as what they were and are: as heroes. — hannahmjade
