Amazing movie!
★★★★★
I loved this movie so much I saw it three times in theater! Every moment is cinematic and the story is so fantastic. It has no filler, a unique atmosphere, and surprising twists! I had to purchase the 4K HDR Bluray! :) — Keleion

GREAT sequel
★★★★★
I’m a huge fan of the original and thought this was an excellent follow up to the story. Ryan Gosling was excellent in it, and I wasn’t so sure about him going in, but he was spot on as a replicant Blade Runner. The least believable part of the story, unfortunately, was Harrison Ford returning as Deckard. Unfortunately it felt shoe horned in and he just wasn’t “Rick” anymore, but old man Harrison Ford; he was iconic in the first, they should have left it that way. Again, I loved the movie overall and watched twice already and will many times more. Great job & well done 👍🏼 — Tonenuff

Horrible Movie - Please don't buy/rent !!
★★★★
Worst movie ever. Ryan plays a lost puppy who can't find his way and pace of the movie is so slow you can't figure out what is going on and the acting is so bad. I bought it hoping but cannot return it. Please don't rent/buy this, you will be so disappointed. Remember itunes puts good reviews at the top so they get you to buy/rent these terrible movies. — nettalk

Excellent movie
★★★★★
Did not enjoy the first blade runner very much. I have tried numerous times watching it, but I didn’t care for it. I did really enjoy this one. Just fantastic. — lordsuckulant

Slow boring movie
★★★★
What can I say but this movie is terrible and slow. Idk how this is rated so high. — Tingdingaling

Interesting and Boring All At Once
★★★★★
Interesting and boring all at the same time. It's all I can come up with the describe this movie. It seems to me dystopitan screen writers are lazy. They go to other screen plays and lift lines straight from other scripts. I appreciate the artistic aspects of film making, however the artisitics scenes should do more than I feel was done in this film to support the film's controlling idea. The twist at the end was well done. — Storylvr

Just amazing
★★★★★
My favorite movie of the year! Visuals are amazing and the story is fascistic. Watch it LOUD! — DepecheViolator

As I live and breathe Harrison Ford in another Blade Runner Movie
★★★★
So Blade Runner 2049 wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to be put to a high enough standard in filmmaking! I had to pick up my jaw off the floor! — 16 HORSES

Hmmm...
★★★★★
This is a beautifully-executed, visually gorgeous and very, VERY well-acted and directed film that I sadly didn't enjoy all that much. I'm a big fan of the original, but I'll be the first to admit it's flawed AF. This time, a little too much real-estate is wasted on a sequel we're never going to see, and that I was disappointingly not all that interested in anyway. The more interesting ideas (and there were many) ultimately left me saying "Black Mirror" did it better. Personally, I liked replicants better when they were scary. Watch "The Animatrix". You'll thank me later. But the opening scene with Drax was awesome, and so were pretty much all of the effects, the acting, the production design, the dialogue...I just was never really moved. A chin-scratcher at best, at least for me. SPOILER ALERT: You're not gonna see Harrison Ford for a long, LONG time. Just sayin'. — Barkingslug

Worst SIFY movie EVER!!! I wish I could give this movie negative stars!
★★★★
I see a lot of movies, about four every month and this was the absolute worst movie I have seen in over four years! Melissa and I along with the other 500+ people in the theater sat in silence after this three hour movie until I said quiet loudly “What on earth did we just watch?” After that everyone in the theater started tearing this poorly written and poorly made movie apart. There is not one part of this movie that is even close to decent. — frankrizzo45

Loved the origina, and the sequel did not disappoint. Wonderful special effects and great to see Harrison Ford back. Ryan Gosling did an awesome job! — AA550

Horrible. Just. Horrible. Didn’t even come close to expectations. It was all over the place. Worst movie choice we’ve ever made. — RTS724

Beautifully artistic
★★★★★
I’ve been excited about this move since rumors of its existence. Although some may find the story to be slow, this was well thought out and artistic is a beautiful way. I was immersed in the story telling and path which it was woven. — Jkemhus

A worthy sequel
★★★★★
If you're a fan of the original, you'll find elements in this that stay true to the original. As risky as it is to make a sequel after so many years. I think this is a worthy sequel.. — dogdd

Don’t believe the want-to-be critics...
★★★★★
Seriously read and understand all the reviews of people that gave this a 4 or 5 and you’ll see the same fluff-pieces over and over from wanna-be critics hoping somebody will ‘discover them.’ Here an honest breakdown for those of you that really like your value’s worth in a movie (out of 5): - Visual - 4 - Story - 3 - DUMB holes in the story that make you want to turn it off (I did twice): 0 + 0 + 0 *A surreptitiously planted tracking device planted on a sophisticated machine (K) that’s literally tied to everything electronic - 0 *That same device not discovered by the universally-connected-AI (Joi) - 0 *Leaving for dead and leaving behind the same sophisticated machine (K) that is the literally the key to everything - 0 4+3+0+0+0/5 = 1.4 2 Stars is being gracious — ToeUpFmThFloUp

Boring, slow death
★★★★
One of the most boring, slow movie with nothing to offer movie I have ever seen... Totally waster $ — apple_ple

A smart film for smart people
★★★★★
This amazing movie is a slow burn. It has very little action and lots of dialog. If you enjoy films like Fast and Furious, Transformers or any other tent-pole crap fest, then go watch those. This movie is too smart for you and doesn’t want you to watch it. — KingTaco619

Beautiful movie... like a symphony!
★★★★★
Not a wasted moment in this wonderful story. Ties neatly to the original without the artificial, mandatory nods to its predecessor that is commonplace in reboots or sequels from older movies. Character development is rich. Each character is endearing and intriguing. The plot has unpredictable twists. And the story is filled with attractive nuance that demands attentiveness, and stirs emotions. Well done. Very well done! — Billy DTK421

One of the best sequels ever.
★★★★★
I saw Blade Runner 2049 three times in the theater. I probably could have gone a fourth. As much as I loved it, I’m able to recognize that its not for everyone. The pacing is a straight replicant of the original, meaning its slow. Most people will find it boring and too long. But if you watch it as a piece of art, and let it transport and immerse you in into it’s world it’s a fantastic experience. It begs to be seen on the largest screen you can get your hands on. I’m thinking about getting a 4K tv just for the movie. The first time I saw the movie, i did feel it was maybe 20 minutes too long. After my 2nd and 3rd viewing, I felt it was perfect. The score, although not as good as Vangelis’s work on the original, is great and adds a lot to the atmosphere. These are darker more dangerous days, so the score does a good job of getting that across. It’s a bit of an apples to oranges situation trying to compare the scores though because they are trying to accomplish different things. One of my favorite things about the film is the use of practical models, sets and effects. Also, they frequency they are used reminded me of older films which I loved. Every time a cityscape or effect is on screen it blows you away and feels special. Most sci fi movies today shove as many pixels in your face as possible and after awhile you don’t care as much about what your looking at. Every effect shot in br2049 is spectacular which is why it begs for a large screen. Finally, I’d like to just say how absolutely relieved I am that this movie didn’t turn out to be a dumbed down movie for the masses. Best movie of the year for me. — phexus

Stunning and kept you wanting more
★★★★★
People complained about how long this movie is, but I barely felt the length. This whole movie is a ride and I didn't want it to end. I loved the story and the twists it takes, and the movie still wants to keep you guessing after it's over. Nothing is wrong with this movie. Soundtrack, visuals, story, acting, all of it was top notch! — JerryWier

Such a great film, work of art. — EdElMamaflex

Excellent movie
★★★★★
As a huge fan of the original Blade Runner, I was skeptical that they could pull off a worthy sequel. I am very happy to say that I was wrong. 2049 is an excellent movie that respects the integrity of the original movie (and preserves its ambiguity on critical plot points) and yet also stands on its own. If the original is an A+ masterpiece, this one is a solid A: not as shockingly original as the first one, but it still sent chills down my spine several times. — arjuna808

I literally fell sleep
★★★★★
Come on. I love both HF and RG as much as anyone else and am a big SciFi buff, but any slower and the movie would go backwards. I fell sleep after an hour and forty five minutes of waiting for something to happen. 87% on rotten tomatoes? How? — Balto48

Just awful.
★★★★
To set things in perspective I’m a long time fan of the original and wanted this movie to be a knockout or even worthy of the original. Frankly, it sucked. Acting was wooden. Story was awful. The visuals and sound were up there but couldn’t carry the story. Both Harrison and Ryan were wooden and at times looked unengaged...just like me. To be honest, I think it may be the worst movie I have seen and that really pains me to say. Truly miss the mark big time...in almost every way. Someone needs to say it and, while I hate to, I need to tell the truth as I see it. — Nottil

Masterpiece
★★★★★
This film is a masterpiece, but it’s not for everyone, because you have to actually think. — sdellis93

Incredible with a few minor issues
★★★★
This is why Actors become actors, directors become directors, cinematagraphers become cinematographers.. it's so good on nearly every level. Harrison Ford without a doubt his best performance, lets say his only performance. Ryan Gosling has been in the zone since Drive and continues to have a list of movies that is starting to look like Brad Pitt's career. Sylvia Hoeks comes out of nowhere and is perhaps the most memorable and character - this is a Sharon Stone in Casino performance. The one cast member that simply blew it for me was Carla Yuri. The smirk on her face, her gestures, her movements and her accent nearly ruined the movie for me. This character neede more innocence and nuance especiall to be paired with this stellar cast. I would say somebody more like Audrey Tautou back in the Amelie days would have done wonders. Simply incredible otherwise. One of the best movies of the 2000's. — hemispheres8

Disappointing
★★★★
No. — severely disapointed

As good or better than the first.
★★★★
Looks like they left this wide open for a third film. And that is a good thing. — Marlins money

Slow Runner
★★★★★
Some very clever and thought provoking ideas about what it means to be human are undercut by the often plodding pace, especially in the last 1/3 where I began nodding off. At 163 minutes it's about an hour too long. It really could be tightened up a lot. I still enjoy how The original Blade Runner and 2046 unintentionally work as sequels to the remake version of Battlestar Galactica, even including Edward James Olmos. — LVogt

Seriously a masterpiece
★★★★★
Sure it’s slow and long, and maybe a bit strange at times; but because this is the Blade Runner world created back in 1982, this sequel expands it in such wide and artistic ways. The story, the dialogue, the actors, the colors, the detail, the camera movements, and the intensity all make this movie just so good. As a movie junkie, this is definitely an experience rather than just a film. The talents behind this really amazed me. It wasn’t the pure action movie I expected, but what it is definitely makes up for that. The MUSIC is incredible. The beginning and ending are AMAZING. This HAS to be owned and seen in 4K. And this movie makes you think a lot about life. Definitely one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and one of my top favorites of all time. — philosopher23

Better than the first
★★★★★
Excellent sequel that seems to effortlessly continue without having to make you remember anything about the first. Interesting cinamtorgphy and is worth seeing just for the shear production value. The worms for food thing seems a bit far fetched but who knows what might happen after a nuclear winter and over population. I do thing a couple of scenes could have been left out withut affecting the movie but I am not a director. Casting was spot on, and bringing Harisson Ford back one last time before he's too old to get around or crashes in an antique plane means this movie had to be made. There was no choice but to make a great movie. I thought the music was an important part of the feel of the original and the sequel and they did a great job of making a Vangelis like score but not exactly. — BestRater

Sci-Fi Masterpiece!
★★★★★
Blade Runner 2049 is simply a Sci-Fi Masterpiece. It is definitely a better film than the first Blade Runner & deliver's a solid story along with breathtaking visuals. Ryan Gosling & Harrison Ford deliver their strongest performances in this film & I loved every frame! I highly recommend for any Sci-Fi fan! — calebmpr

Promises a lot, but fails to deliver
★★★★★
Weak story and plot development. Plot reveals are predictable and the main relationship storyline is callously abandoned near the end to service an anti-climatic and depressing ending to a very long movie. Some elements from the first movie are recycled. Casting is good with a few exceptions. — Thatchman2

Boring

Don’t buy not worth 20 bucks rent it if you can I have seen better bride of chucky was better and I hate that movie — razorsedge11

Let it Wash Over You
★★★★★
Sometimes we go to the movies for mindless, popcorn-flick fun. Sometimes we go to be challenged, to think, to wonder. There is a place for both. Blade Runner 2049 is the latter. Don't go into it expecting non-stop action. This is a lens that lingers on a possible future, as originally envisioned in the 1980's classic. Don't let the box office fool you -- this picture is beautiful, compelling, and thought-provoking. Worth a watch. Several, in fact. — Curtis_L_D

Everything you need in a movie

This movie surpasses the first one in every possible way, great story telling amazing visuals. The acting is superb. I went to the movies and now have purchased it because this is a movie I want to watch I er and over again. Stayed true to the classic and added even more to this amazing world. 5 stars. — Tubznyhc

I loved this movie it was visually stunning and the plot had me interested throughout. I can understand why some found it boring it is a very opposite side of the spectrum kind of movie, you either love it or hate it but I definitely recommend seeing it. — Rudinsky

Was ok
★★★★★
Not great but had its moments. Plot was shallow and there were scenes where I was very bored or confused as to why the direction suddenly changed. Why so much build up for the main character to be the born child then only to change it 2/3 the way in. — Silent1643a

Favorite Movie of the Year
★★★★★
This is by far my favoritre movie of the year. I NEVER go to my local movie theatre, but I had made an exception for this film. What an absolutely incredible experience. It's smart, thought-provoking, and well developed Sci-Fi. I haven't seen a film this much I enjoyed in years. The iTunes version is WONDERFUL. The audio design is INCREDIBLE although I wish I had a 7.2 surround sound system rather than a 5.1. The 4K is extraordinary. It's a visually stunning film. If you like great Sci-Fi, this film is for you! — Cesium06
