Despicable Me 3

Kids & Family • PG • Directed by: Pierre Coffin & Kyle Balda • 90 minutes

Illumination, who brought moviegoers Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, and the biggest animated hit of 2015, Minions, continues the story of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions in Despicable Me 3. After he is fired from the Anti-Villain League for failing to take down Balthazar Bratt, the latest bad guy to threaten humanity, Gru finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. But when a mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother—a brother who desperately wishes to follow in his twin’s despicable footsteps—one former super-villain will rediscover just how good it feels to be bad.

Huge Disappointment
★★★★★
Doesn't hold a candle to the first movie. First movie was fresh, funny and original. Second movie was a typical "sequel" (meaning it lacked any of the originality of the first in the series). This one is a very tired, creatively spent wasted effort. I cannot recommend it at all. Watch the first movie again instead. You'll enjoy it far more than watching this. Hopefully there will NOT be a Dispicable Me 4! — 2smallforest

Just end it already...

This movie is worse than a child with ADHD. It may be good for children with ADHD, because they can focus on this movie since it has so many bright colours and outrageously horrendous characters and a storyline that can't walk a straight line if it tried. You're much better off watching Cars 3 or some other Pixar masterpiece. Hell, even Planes is better than this trype. If you respect and love your children, and do not want them growing up resenting you, by the grace of God, PLEASE do not make them watch this poop. — ScallionBandit

Yep, movie theaters are on their way out.

I saw Despicable Me 3 as one of the last things to do on my summer vacation. Didn’t really want to see it, but I thought it was going to have that feeling that usually makes Despicable Me an enjoyable franchise to see (Exepct Minions, that one was totally garbage). So I saw the movie, and besides babies crying in the theater which was only a little distracting (I don’t mean to be offensive, personally I don’t really care, I like kids) I figured out, this was a total cash grab this time around, and this movie sucked. They took the good qualities of Despicable Me out, and all we had left were annoying characters, basic boring thin plots, unfunny jokes, and overall a childish feel to a movie. Kids will surely love it (they of course will take anything animated for kids). I found the plot where the youngest daughter Agnes looks for a unicorn (the one thing she loves) to be completely stupid and a waste of time. This is an example of how today’s movies don’t captivate their audiences as they did back then (Although we have gotten a few masterpieces for example Coco). Seriously, there are new ways that movie studios can expand a lot more with movies. I personally think a whole movie could be in VR. But until then, we will have to witness the slow departure of movie theaters. Overall don’t watch this movie, I could have found many more things to spend the last days of my summer break than this piece of cash grabbing filth. It’s just as bad as Minions. — Rock music is the best 85

★★★★★
I suppose that the ridiculous, over the top antics are mainstays, but it'still not convincing enough to be as engaging as the original. Worth a watch for sure but don't exspect to be blown away with plot. This is setpiece slapstick with some 'cute' mixed in.... which is OK but a little bit below hopeful exspectations. PS- Please don't make another solo Minions movie. — nuenjins

Listen, the movie wasn’t awful, but I would not buy it on digital or blu-ray. If there’s a good joke you already saw it in the trailers. Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t fall asleep or anything, but if they made a 4th one, I can guarantee you I will not be stepping into the theater. — HDV8765

The first one was cute, new, funny and fresh The second one declined but not too much but this 3rd part is unwatachable. There is _nothing_ new and 99% of the gags arent funny at all — DaijDjan

Another Great Addition To A Great Series!
★★★★★
I love the Despicable Me series & this might be my favorite one yet! I saw this in 3D in the theater & it was a very fun movie overall! Planning on buying the 4K version soon! I recently bought a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player & this would be a great addition! There's also a 4th movie in the works which is awesome! — rnorred86

★★★★★
I'm not sure why this movie did not get more acclaim! I heard that is was not that good, so I took me a while to get around to watching it. Me and my family laughed our way through this. These are the characters we all love, and the story is funny and engaging. We watched it in 4D and it is amazing. Great 80s music with the villan. I love the allusion to Spy vs. Spy at the end as well. Awesome job!!! — Dr. Johnigan

It's fun, but not so fun you forget it's the 3rd one
★★★★
Usual tounge in cheek fun with Gru/Lucy to engage the older viewer, but Agnes steals the show. Surprise: Margo really develops into an interesting character; I'd expect the next film to focus on her more than the other girls. It's good fun for the family. We liked it. — Dboyes99

Total waste of money and time
★★★★
While the Despicable Me 1&2 were really humorous at times, this movie is a total waste of time and money. Unable to view more than 20 minutes at a time, the 'humor' in this movie is unbearbly infantile. Do not know who directed this one, but do human kind a favor and please find another job. — Robennoor

Watchable but little heart
★★★★★
It's a watchable movie, but it has little of the heart of the prior movies. Gru's interactions with his new-found brother take the predictable turns, but at the expense of reducing the girls, Lucy, and the minions to distracting sub-plots with little bearing on the story. This is unfortunate, too, because their adversary is one of the best parodies of 80s-90s sitcoms ever created. DM has reached the point of "TOO MANY CHARACTERS," and giving them all screen time simply creates a jumbled mess. DM3 is a collection of fan-service scenes or a cynical cash grab....and unfortunately, probably signals the end of the franchise. — oopfoo

Not the best, but still enjoyable.
★★★★
I went in with low expectations, but this was still a enjoyable movie. Very funny and it moved at a good pace. If you liked the first 2 and minions you should like this one too. — TuneBot76

Sad...
★★★★
I love the movie. The characters and the setting. But, they could of done better. The music doesn't fit the setting and letting two super villains in the movie at the same time was a bad idea. If you want to see a amazing movie, go to the theater and watch Disney Pixars brand new movie Coco. The movie is filled with light, fun, and amazing animation! Also, Universal Studios could of released it earlier too. — Diamond Dave4ever

The Trifecta Curse!
★★★★★
It’s a great hollywood tradition when their entertainment is a success (particularly a family film): take the warmth and charm that were essential components to the wit and visuals...then "improve" it with raunch and bawdiness! They honestly believe this is what buyers are thirsting for! The creators will no doubt have the nerve to act surprised as the downloads dry up. I can’t - and won’t - sit down with my kids and watch this. Interestingly, Pixar (the creator’s competition) made no sequel to UP! Or follow up to Monsters University...both family-friendly. Amazing! Here’s the principle: if you’re making chili, and you perfect the recipe... people love it...why do you dump half a container of Cayenne Pepper into the next batch? No one will eat it. That’s the feeling i got with this movie. In a sick world...people want some of the charm and empathy that the first movie incorporated. Who wants to escape the real world...to point and laugh at the same world? — Urbanwild

pretty bad
★★★★★
The worst thing about this movie is it's tacked on villain, who ruined every scene. I would call the villain by name, but I honestly don't remember. The villains motive is that his tv show was cancelled, pretty horrible. Otherwise this movie was ok. It had less minions then I thought it would have, which was good. — Bklners

Not the worst...
★★★★★
...but not the best either. The first one was a great movie, the second one had a little more action but still a good movie, and minions isn't the best but it serves as a great way of entertainment. This third one was kind of a let down, considering it didn't have the same charm as the previous movies. Dru was a waste of time and should've been just Gru focusing on defeating Bratt than meeting a clumsy twin brother, with a side plot of him getting along with Lucy and the girls. The minions didn't help out either since their own adventure could have been a mini movie. The GOOD things, however, were the humor and the portrayal of the characters, especially Trey Parker as Bratt. I have no offense if you like or hate the movie because my review is mixed. Like the minions movie, it serves as entertaining, but not as a watch over and over movie. Oh, and there were no credits scenes focused on the minions like the previous three. Just hope you enjoy it, because I like-don't like it. — E.LIONEL

Welp, I guess we’ll just keep getting this Minion crap for the rest of time. What happened to Toy Story, a movie that not only changed animation forever, but became a timeless classic? Oh, yeah, it doesn’t have tiny yellow retards running screaming banana.
