another disappointment.. i loved the books! but the movies are such a let down. i agree with other comments, the actors have zero chemistry. — nini823627

Doesn't do it for me
★★★★
As a lover of the books and somebody who's read them multiple times each I was very disappointed by both movies. Not only way the screen play awkward and slow but the actors chemistry is dead. Plus seeing Jaime Dornan as Christian just doesn't fit the part. In the books he's a masculine drop dead gorgeous hunks (or at least in my mind) not so much in the movie though. Then there's the issue with his acting for the character. He didn't do him justice. Christian is a very misunderstood, emotionally abused character and when he finally opens up to Ana about his thing with touching he just blow its off for the rest of the movie like it's no big deal. I was excited for these movies to come out because I fell in love with the love story but I'd prefer if they just stayed as books. They are good for a laugh on screen though. — Feminine Fatale

A kinky love story
★★★★
I liked the movies, they are love stories. If you don't like love, then you won't like these. — Shematz

Thin Plot, Not Horrible Tho
★★★★★
This movie has an incredibly thin plot, like a romance novel, and it's very light on the sex, considering what it should have been like (based on the book). But it's not the worst movie ever made. I actually smiled through most of it. The stars do have chemistry and their relationship is more believable in this sequel than in the first one. I think all the haters of romance movies should stop reviewing romance movies. It's really not terrible - and there are violent or car chase movies that are much worse out there that people love for no reason that I can see. — Citizen Sane

Entertaining
★★★★★
It's pretty entertaining itself. Like there's parts of the movie that don't have sex in it that I find entertaining. But yeah, it's human nature to like the sexual stuff too. I thought it was as good as just any other movie really — Sophia da first

The worst movie ever made
★★★★
I cannot believe the world has lowered itself to rock-bottom so evilly. I am 13 years old and a Catholic. The idea of sex out of marriage. . . I don't need to watch this movie and I swear I never will. If I wasn't Catholic I would tell the cast, crew, viewers, raters, etc to burn in hell. But instead I will pray for them, for they need that more than anything else. If you're looking for something good to watch, find a documentry on Saint Maria Goretti. She was a 12 year-old girl who's neighbor demanded to have sex with her. She refused and he stabbed her 13 times, killing her. A real person and a real hero. Saint Maria Goretti, pray for us! God help the people who make the decisions of watching Fifty Shades of Grey and it's sequel. — AllTheLadiesLuvLeo

Love it or Hate it...
★★★★
It is not as dramatic as the book makes out to be. If you are going to watch, be mindful. Warning: Bad acting and the sex scenes aren't as sensual as they could've been. But all in all, it's still a good movie. Also, if you haven't read the books, please do. Even if you dislike the movie, the books are a thousand times better. — BlaseLove

Working Girl
★★★★★
So, I love old movies and I'm watching Working Girl with Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford when it gets to the end of the movie and Tess (Melanie character) finds out the she has her own corner office. Her new secretary ask her to lay out the ground rule and Melanie's character says " I expect you to call me Tess, I don't expect you to get me a cup of coffee unless your getting yourself some to, and the rest will go along with from there" So deja vu, where have I heard that from. I'm wrecking my brain trying to think, and light bulb😳. Anna says the same line after Jack gets fired and she's in his office with the other secretary. Seriously I wasn't all that happy about this movie, but stealing lines from old films, give me a break. I hope for the 3 rd movie they stick more to the book. — TheOTStudent

Worse than the 1st Fifty Shades
★★★★
I didn't think FS Darker could be worse than the first FS given E.L.'s co-producing. This movie isn't worth the $15 nor your time. Very dissapointing. — Geri Hazelitt

So much better than the first
★★★★★
A lot better than the first. The extended, not released in theaters version is even better. Sure it's a bit different than the book but that's almost always the case when adapting a movie from an extremely long and detailed book. — Jae D

Can't play it

I have and issue playing the movie is not even 24 hours since I start watching it and I can't continue watching I want a refund!!! — Jacky4188

Making sense
★★★★★
It is a continuation on the fifty shades grey and I'm beginning to understand the whole story with the fifty shades darker. I like it when Christian is becoming more normal and falling I love with Ana. 😍 it is mKing sense why Mr. Grey is a little sexual and perverted. lol I love the movie! — Krystaljan

Should have listened
★★★★
I was warned. I read the reviews and still thought maybe it's not as bad as they say...wrong!! It's horrible, awkward and painful to watch. If you thought the first one was bad this is much much worse. Just don't buy or even rent this at all!! Waste of time and money! 😩😩 — rokwu01

Worst movie ever!!!

Mainstream Porn
★★★★
Its just porn released through mainstream media. The characters have no depth, which makes sense because how are the characters going to evolve if they keep having sex in every scene or pretend to be brooding in the rest. No wonder this used to be a fanfiction of Twilight. Christian Grey is the adult version of Edward Cullen with BDSM thrown in. — LemonEmpire

Better than the first
★★★★
I thought this one was definitely better than the first one. It had more of a real relationship and some good edge of your seat drama. I'd totally watch it again — Raven's Gate

Much better!
★★★★★
I was very disappointed in the first film. This one stayed true to the books. Much better! — *Kierra*

Dissatisfied
★★★★★
I rented the 1 st movie and was surprised I liked it. I never read the books. Not a romance reader. I did enjoy the first movie- but this?? Total crap 💩. Can already see the sequel and seems to me this flick was to set up the 3rd movie. That 1 if done well I think will be a major improvement. Basically soft porn. 💄💋👄👅👥 — Gamer holdem

Unrated is the way to go
★★★★
The theatrical version was disappointing and felt rushed. The unrated version is sooo much better and gives those little extra details that help you connect to the story. It's too bad they didn't just go with the unrated, the movie would've gotten much better reviews. The movies are really good for people who enjoyed the books, if you didn't read them I don't think you can really appreciate the movies. And Dakota Johnson is excellent in her role. — Jojom28

OMG I LOVED THOS MOVIE! It was so much better than the first because they show more of the romance, love, and sex. It's amazing! — TORTURECHAMBER37

Loved the movie!
★★★★★
Don't get the haters of this movie. Think it was very entertaining and very hot. Better than the first. If you're not a fan of the books, probably will not enjoy the movie. If you loved the book, you will love the movie. Thought the unrated version was way better. — marlittle

★★★★★
Unless you are amongst the most die-hards of the genre's target audience, don't bother. It's really tedious. — PalmTree29

What a difference
★★★★★
The Unrated version of this film is 100000x better. I watched both versions & did not like the rated version AT ALL. My first watch was with the Unrated & loved it. My second watch was with theatrical and I stopped it right away & didn't care to finish. Honestly should of released this movie the Unrated way 💯 — Nate Prettyboy

Boring

This book had so much passion...even beyond sex. This movie was flat. The charaters reacted like they were bored of there lives so let have sex. I was so disappointed with sence where he went submissive. — jennie38
